Celebrating Earth Day with Kyra's Shea Medleys

As we honor Earth Day, Kyra's Shea Medleys is proud to be doing our part for the planet while uplifting communities in need. From the ingredients we choose to how we give back, sustainability and social responsibility are at the core of our mission.

Our Safe, Healthy, and Effective (SHE-approved) beauty products are carefully crafted with both people and the planet in mind:

• Vegan and Cruelty-Free

Our products are certified vegan and cruelty-free by PETA and Leaping Bunny. That means we DO NOT use animal-based ingredients nor do we test on them ever! Trust us when we say your hair and skin will thank you for using products with healthy ingredients.

• Natural and Organic Ingredients

We pride ourselves in using natural, plant-based ingredients because we believe that if come from the Earth, why wouldn't the cure? Check the ingredients tab on every product page for full transparency. In addition, here are a list of ABSOLUTELY NO ingredients you will not find in any of our products:

Sulfates, Petroleum, Silicones, Mineral Oil, Parabens, Phthalates, Artificial Colors, EDTAs, Isopropyl Alcohol, Lanolin, Animal By-Products and NO Animal Testing

• Sourced Fair-Trade and Sustainably

We always try to obtain our ingredients and materials straight from the source so that the locals (and not just big corporations) benefit from their land. We shop with small businesses that also believe in sustainability and putting the health of their customers' and their families first.

• 100% Recyclable Packaging

We want to help sustain our planet, so we only use recycle packaging. Our jars and bottles are made from PET plastic, which has the SPI code 1. Ask your local recycling center or visit H&B ProdEx (nonprofit org in Los Angeles) for ways to recycle your beauty products. The packing peanuts we use are fully biodegradable and of course the shipping boxes are 100% recyclable as well.

• No Palm Oil = Preventing Deforestation

Unfortunately the production of Palm Oil is highly contributing to deforestation, so we have chosen not to include it in any of our products like so many beauty businesses do. We want to plant more trees, so this year we'll be donating a portion of our proceeds to One Tree Planted and will create a campaign / fundraising page soon.

As a woman-owned and Black-owned business, we are also honored to break barriers and promote diversity in the beauty industry while upholding all of the values we have shared above.

But our commitment goes beyond just making great products. Through our KSM Gives Back program, we have donated over 7,000 products, contributed thousands of dollars, and volunteered countless hours to local nonprofits in underserved communities. We believe in sharing our success to drive meaningful change.
